Your attention training progress, visualized
Glow Points are a simple visual reward for showing up. Each time you complete a focus session in Cortex Lantern, you earn points — not for being "productive," but for practicing. Cortex Levels reflect your consistency over time, helping you see progress without pressure. And streaks? They're gentle encouragement, not a source of guilt. Miss a day? No problem. Pick up where you left off.
Glow Points are earned by completing focus sessions. They represent effort and consistency — showing up and finishing what you started.
As you accumulate Glow Points over time, you progress through Cortex Levels. Each level represents a milestone in your attention training journey — not a measure of how "focused" you are, but how consistently you've practiced.
Levels reflect repeated sessions, not single achievements. If you train 3–4 times a week, you'll see your level rise gradually. There's no rush. The point is to build a habit over time, not race to the top.
A streak is simply a count of consecutive days you've completed at least one focus session. It's a gentle nudge to keep going — but it's not meant to create anxiety.
Missing a day is completely normal. Life happens. When you miss a day, you don't lose your Glow Points or your Cortex Level. You just start a new streak when you're ready. Based on the science of attention training, consistency beats intensity — but "consistency" doesn't mean "never missing a day."
Cortex Lantern uses Cognitive Pathways to help you match your focus mode to your current task — Deep Work, Learning, Creative, Problem-Solving, or Communication. Rewards reinforce the habit of using the right pathway for the right task.
When you complete sessions across different pathways, you build a more balanced practice. Over time, this helps you strengthen attention across multiple types of work, not just one. Learn more about how it works.
This approach is especially helpful if you're using Cortex Lantern as an ADHD-friendly focus timer.
No. Glow Points are a gamification feature, not a scientific measurement. They reward effort and consistency, not brain activity.
No. Once earned, Glow Points are yours. Missing a day or taking a break won't reduce your total.
Nothing bad happens. Your streak counter resets, but your Glow Points and Cortex Level remain. Start a new streak whenever you're ready.
Cortex Levels are based on your total accumulated Glow Points. The more you practice over time, the higher your level. There's no time pressure — levels reward consistency, not speed.
Slightly. Training across multiple Cognitive Pathways can unlock small bonuses, but the main reward is always for completing sessions.
There are similarities — all three use gamification to build habits. But Cortex Lantern is specifically designed for attention-span training, with Cognitive Pathways and science-backed principles at its core.
